Monthly “STEAM Saturday”

The Second Saturday of EACH month, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the museum, students in grades 3 thru 5 can take part in STEAM Saturday! STEAM sessions are hands-on and designed to be both FUN and educational!
November 11, 2017 – “T” – Technology – Ablative Heat Shield
Students will learn how heat shields keep astronauts safe on reentry to earth. They will design, build, and test their own heat shield.
December 9, 2017 – “E” – Engineering – Design Your Own Spacesuit
Students will learn the history of spacesuit development, from Project Mercury through today. They will design their own spacesuit of the future.
January 13, 2018 – “A” – Art – Create a Video
Students will write, direct, film and star in their own space themed documentary.
February 10, 2018 – “M” – Math – Origami
Students will learn what math and Japanese origami have in common. They will create their own origami structures while exploring geometry.
Classes are for students in grades 3 through 5 and are linked to the Florida Standards for 5th grade science. Each session is limited to 16 students. To reserve a spot, call us at 321-264-0434 or email us at email@example.com.
