American Space Museum Unveils Commemorative Publication

TITUSVILLE – In cooperation with Specialized Media Group, LLC of Jacksonville, FL, the American Space Museum announced this week that it will be releasing a commemorative publication designed to spotlight the museum and its new programs, the aerospace industry that is roaring back to life in Florida, and the vivid history of American space exploration, as well as other Space Coast attractions such as Exploration Tower, Kennedy Space Center, and the Titusville mural project.

Supported by Space Coast businesses and aerospace contractors, The American Space Museum & Space Walk of Fame Souvenir Book also paves the way for a 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 publication that will be developed in 2018, in time for the July 2019 anniversary celebration.

“When SMG approached us about this project, we knew we wanted to be a part of it,” said Executive Director Tara Dixon Engel. “This region has been defined by the space program, and our museum is a tribute to the men and women who made our ‘first space age’ such a resounding success. We wanted to pay tribute to the past with this publication, while also drawing attention to the contractors and innovators who are now building a bright new future. Likewise, this is a great chance to promote all the exciting things that are happening at our museum and on the Space Coast.”

The Director noted that she is also excited about the potential for the 50th anniversary publication, to be released in 2018. “There are few things that have had the global impact of America’s moon landing,” she said. “It is only appropriate that we begin now developing a commemorative piece that not only spotlights the moon launch and everything that made it possible… but also the amazing benefits to science technology, medicine, communications and transportation that were made possible by Apollo related research and development.”

The American Space Museum & Space Walk of Fame Souvenir Book will be available for purchase at the museum and a number of fine retail locations in Brevard County and Florida, beginning June 27, 2017. Call 321-264-0434 or email info@americanspacemuseum.org with any questions.
