DESCRIPTION:The American Space Museum is pleased to announce a new FREE educational “Bilingual STEAM* Program” for kids ages 4 – 12 on the first Saturday of each month. The class is free but limited to 20 students. Pre-registration Required. See below.** It will not only teach Space Age concepts\, but employ the Spanish language to the vocabulary of the students in the educational materials. You do NOT need to know Spanish to attend. Students will learn new phrases and terms along with science education. Address and map to our Titusville\, Florida location are at page bottom. \nNatalia Sepúlveda will conduct the monthly 10:30 am to noon class with the following themes for 2024… \n\nSorry FULL: Oct. 5th: “Hispanic Astronaut Heritage”\nNov. 2nd: “Your Space Age Home”\nDec. 7th: “Snoopy Celebrates the Holidays in Space”\n\nOur STEM Calendar will list TOPICS and DATES as they become available for registration.\nSepúlveda is a bilingual educator\, best-selling children’s book author\, translator\, and editor. She’s a Ronald McNair Fellow (Challenger astronaut) with a master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.  \nShe owns Bilingual Lifestyle Publishing and teaches Spanish in her Bilingual Playgroup at the Brevard County libraries. She has translated and edited over 450 children’s books and educational resources. She also runs a Bilingual Lifestyle blog\, sharing her bilingual family adventures and educational resources. \nNatalia is originally from San Germán\, Puerto Rico\, and lives on the Florida Space Coast with her husband\, Joseph\, and her 3 children. Parents picking up must have pick-up ticket\n* Rocket Launch activities are Day One between 4:00 and 5:00 PM at Sand Point Park Titusville. Parents and friends invited.\nDay Two:\n* Drop off Day Two: Kennedy Space Center at 9:00 AM. Tell the parking guard you are just dropping off and not parking.\n* Pick-up Day Two: Kennedy Space Center 5:00 PM. Tell the parking guard you are just picking up and not parking.\n\nWe will not handle any kind of medication. In case of emergency we will call 911. If your child is ill\, and can’t come please give us a 12 hour notice and we will refund your fee for the time that was missed. We will keep a 20% supply and processing fee.\nDay One lunch is Pizza and Day two is Subs. We provide bottled water and sometimes soda. Please let us know of any special needs and we will do our best to accommodate them. Any special diet is the responsibility of the parent.\nWe provide a safe active environment. Florida is hot and wet\, so dress your child appropriately. We WILL be outside. Please make sure your child has been lathered in sun screen and has a hat and other sun protection.\nBackpacks will be searched entering Kennedy Space Center and (other than water) any objects that cannot go through a normal airport security will be confiscated by security and may not be returned.
