SUMMARY:321 Day 2025 - Celebrating Brevard's "Birthday" & Honoring Ozzie Osband "Father of 3-2-1 Area Code"
DESCRIPTION:2 Days – 2 Locations! The second annual “321 Day” is a lively celebration of Brevard’s “Birthday” and the 3-2-1 area code that unites our Space Coast community\, thanks to the vision of Robert “Ozzie” Osband. Join us as we honor the moments\, people\, and stories that made us who we are. Expect food\, music\, history\, and\, of course\, a countdown to our shared legacy. Why March 21?: “3/21”. \n\nDAY 1: Fri March 21 at Titusville Florida Welcome Center from 3 – 9 PM.\nMap & Contacts (page bottom).\nDAY 2: Sat March 22 at Pineapple Park\, Eau Gallie\, FL from 11 AM – 4 PM.\n\nFeaturing\n\nFood trucks.\nAdult beverages.\nLive music.\nExhibitors representing many of the causes for which Ozzie volunteered.\nThe 321 Day site has detailed Agenda\, Sponsor\, Food\, Exhibitor and Vendor info.\nVendor & Sponsorship Registration Form (PDF)\n\nThe event is Co-Organized by the American Space Museum and the National Space Society. \nWhat defines our county’s birth?\nIf there’s one force that truly put Brevard on the map\, it was the birth of the space program\, a movement that transformed this region into the launchpad of human exploration. The space program’s origins stretch across decades\, shaped by visionaries\, engineers\, and dreamers. So what defines our county’s birth? What moment unites our past\, present\, and future? For that\, we look to 321\, a simple area code—yet so much more. Thanks to Ozzie\, the 321 count down became the signature of Florida’s Space Coast\, forever linking our community to space exploration. It’s the one thread that ties us all together\, from the beaches of Titusville to the launchpads of Kennedy Space Center\, from the historic charm of Cocoa Village to the thriving industries and growing communities of Palm Bay. \nHow Ozzie brought the 3-2-1 Area Code to Brevard County\nIn 1998\, Orlando was overloading the Space Coast “407” telephone area code. Ozzie researched that “321” was available\, and thought it appropriate for the area where rocket launches end in 3-2-1. Other areas wanted it but Ozzie single-handedly campaigned a year through the proper government hurdles to install “321” on the Space Coast and leave “407” with Orlando. On Nov. 1\, 1999\, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush placed the first official “321” phone call from Tallahassee to Kennedy Space Center\, with Ozzie sitting beside the deputy director receiving the call. \n* More About Ozzie\nOzzie Osband died Aug. 6\, 2023 of natural causes at age 72. He was born in New York\, and lived much of his life in the Titusville area. He had his own computer software company and was well known in the Amateur “ham” Radio community with call N4SCY. A 20-year volunteer for the museum\, he was webmaster for the 20-plus Museums of Brevard and active in the Democratic Party. As an Army veteran\, Ozzie was interred at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims\, Florida. \nAbout the American Space Museum\nThe non-profit U.S. Space Walk of Fame Foundation works to preserve the history of the U.S. Space program through our American Space Museum exhibits and educational programs\, a daily video podcast “Stay Curious” as well as the Space View Park Monuments dedicated to the space programs workers and astronauts. While honoring and recognizing all of America’s space programs and their workers\, the foundation agrees with astronaut Alan Shepard\, when on May 13\, 1996\, he said\, “We need to remember the people who made it possible; so little is said of them.” The intent of the American Space Museum and US Space Walk of Fame is to honor and place emphasis on American space workers and others who made the space programs possible. \nAbout the National Space Society\nThe National Space Society is best known for its wonderful quarterly magazine\, “Ad Astra\,” and is a non-profit organization that has been a grass-roots effort dedicated to the creating and sustaining a spacefaring civilization.\n \nContacts\nCoordinators for the event are ASM’s community liaison\, Mark Marquette\, and NSS’s Jennifer Muntz. They welcome input and support from Ozzy’s friends and the space community. Contact them at… \n\n– Mark: marq@americanspacemuseum.org or (321) 264-0434\n– Jennifer: jennifer.muntz@nss.org.\n– Vendor & Sponsorship Registration Form (PDF)\n\nBelow venue info for DAY 1 in Titusville.

SUMMARY:321 Day 2026 - Celebrating Brevard's "Birthday" & Honoring Ozzie Osband "Father of 3-2-1 Area Code"
DESCRIPTION:The third annual “321 Day” is a FREE lively booths and vendors farmers market style celebration of Brevard’s “Birthday” and the 3-2-1 area code that unites our Space Coast community\, thanks to the vision of Robert “Ozzie” Osband. Join us as we honor the moments\, people\, and stories that made us who we are. Expect food\, music\, history\, and\, of course\, a countdown to our shared legacy. Why is 321 Day on March 21?: “3/21”.\nMap & Contacts (page bottom). \nFeaturing\n\nFood trucks.\nAdult beverages.\nLive music.\nExhibitors representing many of the causes for which Ozzie volunteered.\nThe 321 Day site has detailed Agenda\, Sponsor\, Food\, Exhibitor and Vendor info as well as Vendor & Sponsorship contact info.\n\nHelp the Cause\n321 Day is a volunteer run mission. All donations support event expenses this year and for the years to come. This event supports the mission of the American Space Museum ** in downtown Titusville.\nPlease Donate now! Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals….and the life of “321 Day”. \n** About the American Space Museum\nThe non-profit U.S. \n321 Day Contacts\nPlease contact: Jennifer Rothblatt jennifer.rothblatt@nss.org to get involved. Coordinators for the event are Marq Marquette\, Jennifer Rothblatt\, Stephanie Robinson\, Arnold Soliman\, and Jennifer Kennedy.
