DESCRIPTION:The American Space Museum will be hosting a series of “NASA Legends Dinners” to offer the public informal evenings with notable leaders of America’s space program\, and we are honored to announce Jay Honeycutt\, former Kennedy Space Center director\, as our inaugural event presenter on Wednesday\, Sept. 10\, 2025 at the Italian American Club of Melbourne. Address and contacts at page bottom. \nASM’s “Evening with Jay Honeycutt” will be from 6-9 pm with cocktails\, dinner and a conversation about NASA’s past and present from one of America’s key managers of Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. Cost is $50 for dinner at this ASM fundraiser\, and tickets may be purchased at the Italian American Club website: https://iac321official.com. \nCocktails will be at 6 pm\, with Honeycutt speaking at 6:30 pm. followed by dinner at 7 pm.  A short documentary on NASA’s crewed spaceflights\, created by a team led by Honeycutt\, will be shown during dinner\, followed by Q & A. \nHoneycutt\, a resident of Cocoa Beach\, Florida with is wife Peggy\, will share his views on the past and the planned future activities that he has been a part of during his 60-plus years in the space field. \nHe joined NASA in the mid-1960s\, and became one of the lead managers at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston\, Texas of the mission simulations used to train the flight crews and flight controllers for each of the Apollo missions. Honeycutt was one of the senior leaders during the development and the early missions of the Space Shuttle while at JSC. \nIn March 1989\, Honeycutt was transferred to Kennedy Space Center\, initially serving as Director of Shuttle Management and Operations\, and later as Director of America’s Space Port. In these roles\, he was responsible for all aspects of Shuttle preparation\, launch and recovery of 55 Space Shuttle launches. \nBorn in Jena\, Louisiana\, Honeycutt has an electrical engineering degree from the University of Louisiana\, Lafayette. \nJoin this unique opportunity to dine with Jay Honeycutt\, a person who has made a difference in America’s Space Age\, and to support the non-profit U.S. Space Walk of Fame Foundation\, doing business as the American Space Museum in Downtown Titusville\, Florida. \nFuture dates and presenters will be added to our Events Calendar as they are finalized.

DESCRIPTION:The American Space Museum presents our FREE educational “Bilingual STEAM* Program” for kids ages 4 – 12 on the second Saturday of each month. The class is free but limited to 15 students. Pre-registration Required. See below.** It will not only teach Space Age concepts\, but employ the Spanish language to the vocabulary of the students in the educational materials. They do NOT need to know Spanish to attend and do NOT have to attend all classes. Students will learn new phrases and terms along with science education. Address and map to our Titusville\, Florida location are at page bottom. \nNatalia Sepúlveda conducts the monthly 10:30 am to noon class. \n** Topics for the rest of 2025…\n\nSep 13: “Pressure & Sound: with Andrew Pino\, a Lockheed Martin test engineer”\nOct 11: “The Spanish Language in Space: Who are Hispanic astronauts?”\nNov  8: “Being Thankful for Space Spinoffs at Home”\nDec 13: “Robots in Space” and a holiday dance party!\n\nASM’s Bilingual STEAM programs are supported in part by a grant from the NASA Alumni League of Florida. \nAbout Instructor Natalia Sepulveda\nSepulveda is a best-selling children’s book author\, translator\, and editor. She’s a Ronald McNair\nFellow (a Challenger astronaut) with a master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.  \nShe owns Bilingual Lifestyle Publishing and translates and edits children’s books.  \nShe has translated and edited over 500 children’s books and\neducational resources.
