ShuttleFest Private KSC Tour NEWS
Please check here periodically in case anything changes.
  • 6/08/26: Additional Details.
  • 5/29/26: Change in Times.
  • NOTE: ALL visits to KSC are subject to change due to launch or safety requirements. The custom tour also depends on availability of our volunteer guides. We can’t guarantee this will take place and are not responsible for any associated costs if it does not take place. Note that we have no way to directly contact you about changes so we recommend that you check back here before heading out.

WHAT IS IT?
As a bonus only for ShuttleFest ticketholders, ASM has arranged for retired Apollo and Space Shuttle workers** to lead you on an extended expert guided tour of the Saturn V, Lunar Module, and Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibits at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex!
These tours will be more detailed and thus longer than provided by the normal visitor complex tour guides.
COST
  • ASM’s volunteer private guides are provided free for ShuttleFest ticketholders…
However, YOU are responsible for Kennedy Space Center admission, parking ($15), and any other fees.
  • Suggestion: Spend the day as a normal KSC visitor then break away to meet your private guides at the published times.
  • See KSC Visitor Complex Website for prices and regular visitor info. Do NOT contact them about this private tour.
Dates & Times

Friday 6/19 and Monday 6/22 Tours…

Note that you will need to take one of the scheduled visitor complex busses each way between the main visitor complex and the Saturn V facility.

  • Saturn V / Lunar Module tour: Busses to the Saturn V start at 9:30 AM. It is recommended that you plan to board the bus no later than 10:30 am. At 11:00 am meet Marty Winkel at the south end of the Saturn V facility at the aft end of the Saturn V. It should end about 12:30 pm. This should give you enough time to board the bus back to the visitor center to make the below Atlantis tour. (The bus will drop you off at the Atlantis building.)
  • Space Shuttle Atlantis tour: At 1:00 pm meet Terry White in the Atlantis building.
** About Your Tour Guides
  • Marty Winkel is a former Space Shuttle Main Engine Engineer and Launch Platform Systems Manager. He worked 7 years on Apollo and 32 on Space Shuttle.
  • Terry White is a former Space Shuttle Orbiter Processing Manager.
  • Both are valued volunteers at the American Space Museum.

Queries can be directed to Marty Winkel martywinkel@gmail.com or ASM at 321-264-0434.
