Apollo Astronauts Autograph & Photo Session at American Space Museum – Nov 16, 2023

People at Space Memorabilia ShowTwo legends of the Apollo space program, astronauts Jack Lousma and Rusty Schweickart, will hold an autograph and photo session Thursday Nov. 16 from 11am to noon at the American Space Museum, Downtown Titusville, FL, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Skylab, America’s first space station.

See the Event Page for Full Info, Map, Contacts and Cost.

The special, one-hour event at our museum is to promote the documentary “Searching for Skylab: America’s Forgotten Triumph” and it’s 3 pm screening and panel discussion at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex.

Schweickart flew on the Apollo 9 earth-orbiting mission in March 1969, testing the moon ships with two other astronauts. Lousma spent 56 days on Skylab in 1973. Lousma also was commander of the third Space Shuttle flight, STS-3. Lousma and Schweickart are in their late 80s, and they hint this might be their last public appearance.

“Searching for Skylab” was released in 2020 in Europe, and is directed by Dwight Steven-Boniecki. Technical advisor is Emily Carney of Facebook “Space Hipsters” renown. The producers are Alexandra Steven-Boniecki and Piotr Ochnicki.

This documentary, featuring all nine of the Skylab astronauts, has won awards from the Eastern Europe Film Festival, the Sweden Film Awards and the Salt House Creative International Film Festival.

After the hour-long event at ASM, the astronauts and documentary principles will attend a 3 pm screening of the documentary at Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex followed by a panel discussion.
