The American Space Museum is pleased to support the showing of “Spacewoman,” the documentary about NASA astronaut Eileen Collins, the first woman to pilot and command a spacecraft, paving the way for the next generation of female space explorers.
Spacewoman,” directed by Hannah Berryman, will be shown at the Melbourne, Florida Oaks 10 Premier Theater. A special Monday, April 13th, 7 pm showing will have Eileen Collins present for a Question and Answer session after the 101 minute movie.

The documentary of Air Force Colonel Collins includes her Syracuse, New York growing up in a dysfunctional home, the barriers she broke as an elete Air Force Test Pilot, and career path that led to her becoming a stellar, NASA astronaut. The documentary is based on her popular, 2021 book, “Through the Glass Ceiling to the Stars: The Story of The First American Woman to Command A Space Mission.”

Eileen is a supporter of the American Space Museum, and was a popular guest at ShuttleFest IV in 2025.
